Improve quote conversion

Use this process to convert more submitted quote requests into completed buy orders.

1) Respond quickly to submitted quotes

Set an internal response target so new submissions are reviewed quickly. Fast responses improve customer follow-through.

2) Keep line-by-line decisions clear

For each device line, make a clear decision:

  • approve
  • counter-offer
  • reject

Clear decisions reduce back-and-forth and keep negotiation moving.

3) Use counter-offers strategically

When asking price and target price differ, use counter-offers with clear rationale where appropriate. This often preserves otherwise-lost opportunities.

4) Follow through to conversion

When all lines are accepted, convert the quote to a buy order promptly so inventory is created without extra manual steps.

5) Review declines to improve future quotes

Track common reasons for rejected quotes and adjust your pricing or communication patterns over time.
